Happy Birthday Lukey!

It is something that nobody can avoid and the young Mr. Gough finds himself a year older today than he was this time last week. Wednesday, the 30th of September was Luke's anniversary of joining the world. The real thanks of course go to Mrs. Gough who did all the hard work! Luke did nothing but cry once he came into the world.

We also want to thank his folks for raising such a really nice young man. He wins friends over wherever he goes and is just a ton of fun to be around.

He happened to be here at our place outside Eugene, Oregon the day after his birthday, as he and Harold were returning from the races at Willow Springs, California the previous weekend. We had a nice dinner and baked him a brownie birthday cake. It even had candles on it as you can see by the picture below.

And here is the smiling face of the happy birthday boy. We did wrestle him to the floor and give him his birthday whippings as well! No party is complete without that!

What does a thrill-seeking guy like Luke do for his birthday? Being a good racer, he changed out the water pump on his Ford van! Oh what fun that was. I think it took us more time to scrape the old gasket off as it did to remove the old water pump and put the new one on. Anyway, it was a good day and he and Harold were off bright and early the next morning headed back to Washington.
