The Rock in August. Can't ya just feel the heat? It was
fantastic weekend though, heat and all. Just one week after the National and
here we were back on the TT and Short Track that Johnny Murphree, Jake Johnson,
Chris Carr and Joe Kopp had fought on the weekend prior. We had been on the
track the weekend before the National as well as a part of Gene Romero's West
Coast Flat Track Series. But that is another story and you can read that by

So, Castle Rock on a nice hot August weekend. TT on Saturday
night and Short Track on Sunday. With da Rock only three hours from my house,
this is as close as it gets to a home track for me. So, packed and ready, I left
and made the drive with no problems this time and arrived with plenty of time to
get my pits all set-up and comfy.
Went out for practice and was just not into it for some
reason. My brain was just not there. Same through the second practice actually.
Had to even remind myself that it was a damn TT! Had to remember to brake more
in two and downshift. And ever since my crash in the infield a couple of months
ago, I am still nervous in that damn right hander!
First race was the heat for 40+ and I did not do that well.
Like I said, head was not in it. After that race I went back in the pits and had
